Cycling at Rosebank House
Strathyre, situated 8 miles north of Callander, makes an excellent base for a cycling holiday or for an overnight stop on National Cycle Route 7 which runs from Glasgow to Inverness. The Lowland Highland Trail, part of National Cycle Route 7, runs from west of Croftamie near Drymen in the south to east of Ardeonaig near Killin in the northeast. Using purpose-built tracks, disused railway lines and minor roads, the route runs via Gartmore, Aberfoyle, Callander, Strathyre, Lochearnhead and Glen Ogle.
The cycle track circumnavigating Loch Katrine offers glorious scenic beauty while the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park has Britain's largest network of off-road cycle tracks.
Rosebank House offers comfortable accommodation for cyclists; it is equipped with a drying room, storage facilities at the rear of the house and a comfortable guest lounge in which to relax in the evening. We operate all year round and have central heating and double glazing throughout.
Strathyre is an attractive village with three inns serving food and drink and a good selection of restaurants within the surrounding area. For more detail, please visit our pages on eating out.
Cycle can be hired from Wheels Cycle Centre or Mounter Bikes in Callander, both of which also provide a repair service.
