Strathyre and the Surrounding Area
Strathyre is a pleasant village in attractive countryside on the eastern edge of The Trossachs, known as ' The Highlands in Miniature ' and made fashionable in the early 19th century by Sir Walter Scott's novels and poems. There are three inns in the villages serving a good variety of food and drink.The Strathyre valley straddles the river Balvaig which flows between Loch Voil in Balquhidder and Loch Lubnaig. The hills on each side of the valley are covered by the Strathyre forest. Spring and autumn are particularly colourful seasons. A little over an hour's drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, Strathyre is well located for exploring much of Scotland with Perth, Fort William, the Arrochar Alps and even Loch Ness all reachable by car. The more adventurous may choose to drive to Oban and catch a ferry to one of the islands or enjoy the spectacular train journey from Crianlarich to Fort William and Mallaig. Strathyre is 8 miles north of Callander, 19 miles from Stirling and 31 miles from Perth.

Breakfast
A freshly cooked full breakfast is provided which is made from locally sourced produce where possible. Haggis and black pudding are available along with sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and eggs cooked as desired.Lighter alternatives include kippers or scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
A wide variety of tea and coffee is offered.
